Striking violet blooms in late summer and fall attract butterflies and later feed birds. Reportedly deer and rabbit-resistant. Easily grown from seed in medium to moist soils in full sun. Native to prairies from Arkansas and Louisiana to Southern Canada; from Montana across the Midwest to New York. Beautiful together with the many yellow flowers of late summer and fall.
