Perennial Lupine is the only lupine that is able to thrive even in the harsh southern summers and will even naturalize in most regions of N. Am, even naturalizes outside of Texas which is NOT true of its cousin, Texas Bluebonnet. I love them both but we grow the Perennial Lupine for its longevity and ease to propagate. We grow it here in the Ozarks in filtered light, or on the east side of the house for lots of morning sun, and lots of regal looking blue spires are the rage of the garden in spring and early summer.
