Great Blue Lobelia will provide a moist spot with some soft blue in late summer when its so hot and dry. Grow in front of Cardinal Flower, and put Black-eyed Susan with it. Add Joe-Pye Weed behind that and you'll have a lovely mix of long-surviving, moisture loving plants. Allow lobelias to reseed as they are short-lived perennials.
