| Illinois Bundleflower is a native perennial forb with fern-like foliage and a flower somewhat resembling a white mimosa. Showy only when viewed up close, but is a great wildlife plant. The seed pods are ornamental and the seeds are high in protein--valued by quail, prairie chickens, pheasants, and grazing mammmals. Blooms attract butterflies. Great nitrogen-fixer for improving infertile soils for other plants; does well in disturbed areas. Is used for erosion control and range revegetation projects. Adaptable to many soil types. |
